“Heartspell”
Description
Heartspell came from trying to find a name for another pattern, the Wholehearted Hat. I loved the suggestion so much, I decided to work backwards and create this pattern to fit the name.
This design features half hearts that look like magic swirling up to the crown. The hearts fizzle out on top. It is written for both DK and worsted weight yarns with a table of suggestion on how to convert this to aran and bulky weights.
This is an advanced type pattern as it requires catching some floats and is charted only.
Worsted weight yarn (4): 2 contrasting colors
Main Color 120
Contrast Color 40 yards
US 7/ 4.5mm 16 circular needles
US 8/ 5mm 16 circular needles and/or dpns
Gauge: on larger needles, fair isle blocked
Worsted: 20 sts x 24 rnds
