“Tremblor Shawl by Jamie McCanless”
Description
This is the next in a small collection of Tremblor designs. The Tremblor Shawl is a generous 41 x 96 in / 104 x 244 cm of my earthquake-themed design, featuring broad columns of cable and lace tremblors radiating outward from twisted-sitch ribbed tectonic plates and yarnover fault lines.
Knit at gauge, the pattern sample used exactly three balls of Alba. Bind-off requires roughly 20 yds 18.3 m so, if needed, omit the last row of the north tectonic plate before binding off.
Techniques:
2x2 cables
knit and purl through the back loop (k1tbl, p1tbl)
knit and purl two stitches together (k2tog, p2tog)
slip-slip-knit decrease (ssk)
yarnover
The pattern is accompanied by a second PDF file that provides larger versions of all charts.
