“'You Wear It Well' by Mary Annarella”
Description
An open front cardigan, You Wear it Well is all about ease & comfort with a modern look. The sleek lines of the 2x2 ribbing on the bodice contrast with stockinette stitch sleeves, while pockets complete the look and give you an extra cozy feel.

Worked from the back of the neck and top-down, short rows are used to shape the neckband and help it curve around the neck without flipping. The modified raglan sleeve initially behaves like a saddle sleeve, then a traditional raglan, and finally mimics a set-in sleeve to keep the cardigan stable on your shoulders (don’t you hate how open cardis can fall off? Not this one.).

Because the cardigan is not meant to close fully over the bust, the sizing is based on twice the back-measurement. 1-3” of positive ease are recommended with this garment. Note that the model measures to a 33” bust, but is wearing size 35”.

This design requires a yarn with little “memory” or “bounciness” to it in order to allow the ribbing to lie mostly-flat with blocking. The EL Silky Wool recommended is listed as a DK, but is actually a very light yarn with little bounce it. Choose a yarn with some silk, alpaca, bamboo, BFL, cotton, and/or linen content that will open up with blocking. Alternatively, a 100% wool yarn that is sportweight (or lighter) may work also—but as always, swatch to be sure!
