Yaya KAL–A Fast Start

After giving my wrist adequate time to heal, and getting through the excitement of the holiday weekend, I’m off and running on my Yaya Neck Wrap for our knit along.

Neck-Wrap-189041-2As a reminder, this is my ultimate goal. I think this is going to be a fast project, but not so fast that I’m already finished!

IMG_4293After about two hours of knitting I’ve already got 4 inches of fabric knit up. I only need 6 inches before I put this part aside and work the second half.

This has been a fast project, but it is not turning out to be very good TV knitting. I have to watch what I’m doing when I’m passing the purl stitches over. Don’t pull your stitches too tight or it will be a struggle!

IMG_4295The Yaya yarn is so soft and fluffy! It feels very nice running through my fingers while I’m knitting.

I’m using color 1515-Verdant. I don’t know whether you can tell in my pictures, but there are subtle variations in the color. I saw little flecks of blue when I was taking this picture! It gives the yarn a lot of depth.

We had our first snow last night. I’ll enjoy drinking tea and knitting on my project while gazing out the window at a winter wonderland!

How are your Yaya projects coming along? Share pictures in the KFI group on Ravelry!
