Simonetta Giveaway (July 17-19)

Update: July 21–Winners have been notified by email! Kimberly T. S.; Paula B. A.; Diane S.; Kat; Deborah S.; Judy S.; Dolores K.; Whtsthpnt; Susan; and Sabrina D. Not sure if that’s your name? I also replied to your comment. 🙂

Looking to add a little sparkle to your life?

Check out Simonetta yarn from Louisa Harding.

Simonetta

Oooh, shiny.

Simonetta is a 60% Nylon, 26% Kid Mohair, 14% Metallic Polyester blend with approximately 264 yards per 50g ball. It is available in 12 colors. The metallic polyester is either gold or silver, depending on which coordinates better with the base color.

Leonarda & Madalena

Leonarda (hat) & Madalena (scarf)

There is a coordinating book with eight patterns for garments and accessories. Actually, it has 14 patterns if you consider that some of them have variations.

Leonarda

Leonarda

For instance there are two versions of Leonarda hat. Either the bi-colored beret at the top of the post or the single color pom pom cap above.

Madelena

Madelena

The lovely Madelena scarf also has a single or bi-colored version. This scarf is a fun knit with the lace body and a the ruffled edged, which is worked at the same time as the body of the scarf using short rows.

The metallic fibers are soft and flexible so they don’t pose any problems with wearing this yarn against your skin.

Francesca

Francesca

Meanwhile, the kid mohair creates a light, lofty fabric that keeps you warm without weighing you down.

Doesn’t Francesca look like a great cardigan to wrap up in when you’re out leaf-peeping this fall? Start now and you’ll probably be done in time to see the leaves start turning.

Agnella

Agnella

Louisa’s signature style comes through in feminine patterns like Agnella. This cropped cardigan will make a good cover up for the office.

Giveaway

Would you like a chance to try some Simonetta?

Leave a comment on this blog post telling me your favorite Simonetta Pattern or Simonetta Yarn color.

I will randomly select 10 people who left a comment to each receive a ball of Simonetta yarn! (Void where prohibited. Open to US residents [since we’re the US distributor].)

When you leave the comment and the system asks for your information be sure to include your email address so I can contact you if you win.

In case you’re wondering, one ball is enough to make Leonarda or Madelena from the book. Or the Cosimo Scarf (below), which is a free pattern on our website.

Winners will be selected and announced on Friday July 20.

While you’re busy clicking buttons, please take a moment to vote in our poll up there in the right side bar. We want to be sure we’re meeting you on the social media platforms you prefer. Thanks!

  5. My pattern choice would be Francesca, I like the length and coverage of this cardi. Now to choose a color is a hard thing to do. It is a toss up between the Duck Egg and the Baroque for me. Although I do like all the colors.

  6. Love the designs – I am sure the yarn will be wonderful too!

  11. I love the silver color.

  12. Love the duck egg. Lots of sophistication in a hue of winter bliss. What’s not to love about this yarn.

  13. omg i would so do the madelena scarf it is gorgeous!

  14. The Leonarda hat in Teal or the Gesso Cosimo Scarf would both be beautiful, as would sooooo many others!

  17. Love the mulberry color! I can’t wait to make the madelena scarf for fall! Always need more purple in life!

  18. I’m dying to make the Cosimo scarf in teal…or baroque…or mulberry, lol. The free Cosimo pattern (seen in last winter’s Vogue Knitting) is what first introduced me to Louisa Harding yarns and patterns and totally sucked me back into the knitting world.

  19. If I can only pick one, it would have to be Cosimo in Brulee.

  20. Gesso is my favorite color and I would love to knit Agnella in it!

  33. I would knit the Leonarda hat in teal and add a large vintage button to the band.

  34. I absolutely love love love the teal!!!!

  35. On second look though, The teal is my favorite, BUT I might have to try a breast cancer shawl with the mallow. I make lots of shawls, scarves and blankets for my teammates to raffle to raise money for the Komen 3 Day for the Cure. Each walker must raise $2,300 and my knitting helps them reach their goal. Our team has raised almost $2,000,000 in the last 8 years.

I am a member of The Pink Angels, a team dedicated to fighting breast cancer. My teammate Eileen knits and crochets items for us to use in our fundraising efforts throughout the year. Eileen said the Mallow color would be gorgeous for a scarf and if I win, she will make the scarf for my next raffle! So this would be a win/win for me if I am picked! Thanks for the fun contest!

  38. What a beautiful yarn! Would have to be a toss up between Brulee and Mallow. The possibilities for patterns are too many to choose!

  39. I love the duck egg color
