Local yarn stores are businesses like any other that need the support of the neighborhoods they inhabit.
Their side of the agreement is to create an atmosphere where you want to shop!
Weekends are a popular time for knitters and crocheters to visit their local yarn store. It’s a change to get yarn for your next project, find help if you’re stuck on a tricky part of your pattern, and socialize with like minded people.
Since they were going to be there anyway, I invited our Facebook fans to post pictures of their local yarn store sign over the weekend (March 14-16) for a chance to win a prize.
We had so many fun submissions, I resorted to using a Random Number Generator to select the winner. We selected 5 winners, who will each receive a copy of Louisa Harding’s new book Knits From An English Rose.
Myrna submitted Fine Points Inc.
Liz Tekus, the owner, is creative, artsy, and has multiple fibers in her shop. She and her staff are friendly and most helpful.
Lisette submitted Claddagh Yarns. The Random Number Generator must have known it was St. Patrick’s Day weekend!
Just discovered Claddagh Yarns in Berkeley, CA and they carry Debbie Bliss yarns!
Melissa was one of three people who attended the grand opening of Yarn & Y’all in South Carolina (Facebook page). I guess it makes sense that one of them would end up winning.
It’s so exciting to see a new store opening!
Alice submitted a picture of her yarn crew at HodgePodge Yarns and Fiber (Facebook page).
Knitting and crocheting are relaxing when done on our own, but they are great fun when done with friends! They are also a great ice breaker to meet new people.
I’ve notified the winners by tagging them on our Facebook page under their picture. To claim your prize, use the “message” button on our Facebook page to create a private conversation with me. That way I can easily match up your name.
