This new video from Katia is so adorable it makes me want to bake cookies and ask all my yarn loving friends to come over for a sit and stitch!
I like that they show both knitting and crocheting.
If you want to try to recreate the video at home, we can at least help you out with some of the yarns. You’re own your own for finding a beautiful room in which to host the party. LOL
Azteca is a 50% Wool, 50% Acrylic blend that is available in 23 colors. It’s also machine washable, but you should lay the garment flat to dry. The suggested needle size is US 8-9.
Azteca is featured in the fall 2013 book “Beginners“. This great magazine has a collection of patterns that will be good for the beginner knitter, as well as experienced knitters looking for quick and easy projects.
Azteca is used in a couple hats, a scarf, socks and legwarmers, among other patterns.
The new “Accessories #7” book also features projects using Azteca, including the pretty cowl on the cover.
Look for Azteca yarn, and Katia pattern books, at your local yarn store.
Another yarn featured in the video is Cap Junior.
Cap Junior is a 53% Wool, 47% Acrylic blend, that is available in 4 fun colors. It is a bulky yarn with suggested needle sizes of US 11-13 and crochet hooks of US J.
It is also machine washable, making it great for easy care garments.
As you can see, the colors are black with a contrasting color.
One ball will make a hat (with a pompom!) or a cowl.
The free pattern for the crocheted hat or knit cowl is already available on our website.
Cap Junior is another great yarn for beginner knitters and crocheters because you’ll work simple stitches, but your finished project will look complicated.
If the bright colors of Cap Junior aren’t to your liking, we’re also importing Cap Basic, which features more neutral colors.
One ball of Cap Basic will also make either a crocheted hat or a knit cowl. You can find that free pattern on our main website, too.
