Holidays Giveaway: Week 2 (Dec 7-Dec 11)

This post is what happens when the boss gives me free hand to select which book will be the prize.

I end up pulling out an obscure one because the patterns are so stinking cute!

Little gift dolls coverI mean, doesn’t this little bell boy with his wine and roses just slay you?

Now, as a rule, I personally prefer to crochet toys. I think crochet is good for that purpose because it’s more structural. But these adorable dolls are giving me second thoughts.

Toy soldierSeriously, look at the details on this toy soldier! So charming.

Another thing I like about this book is that it has some holiday dolls, which makes it perfect for this time of year.

Christmas tree fairyChristmas Tree Fairy, anyone? Her hair looks much easier than individual strands that you have to secure.

And, the piece de resistance….

Jelly babiesJELLY BABIES!!!

Oh, sure, they might look a little weird to you, but my fellow Dr. Who fans will understand.

All patterns in this book are knit using Sirdar Snuggly DK, a soft, machine washable nylon/acrylic blend. This makes it a great choice for toys for kids of any age since it’s easy to care for. Did your jelly babies pick up some lint? Toss them in the washer to freshen them up.

Snuggly DK is available in a slew of colors, which will make it easy to personalize your dolls.

Preview the rest of Sirdar Booklet #901-Little Gift Dolls.

What say you? Is this book a good prize?

10 lucky fans will be randomly selected to receive a copy. (US residents. Void where prohibited.)

Allons-y! To enter, simply leave a comment on this post sharing your toy making thoughts.

OMG! Adorable!!!! And as a Dr. Who fan…yes, love!!!

  2. Love those jellies!

  3. Love the little angel!

  4. Haven’t made many toys, but grandkids do need something new & unusual for Christmas!

  5. They are all so cute, my grandsons would love the Jelly Babies and I do need an angel for my Christmas tree.

  6. Oh yes, this book is definitely a good prize and that’s why I’m entering for this one! I’ve made crochet and knit toys before. Crochet toys seem quicker for me to make and they hold their three-dimensional shape well. However, I also appreciate the softness and simplistic style of knit toys. Although, after looking at the patterns in this book, I see that there’s a whole world of toy knitting yet to be discovered. The Superkid looks super, and I may have to start with a pink jelly baby.

  7. Love the jelly babies

  8. Right now I’m making a Lalaloopsy doll for my 4 year old granddaughter. It’s been a while since I made any toys so I hope it turns out great!
